Meet Ebru Eroskay, Director of Glorious DMC’s Sales and Marketing Department.

Hi, my name is Ebru, and I am from Istanbul. I’ve worked at Glorious for six months as the Director of Sales and Marketing.

At university I studied Latin languages and literature, but straight after graduation I started to work in the tourism industry and I was hooked.  I have worked in the tourism industry for 20 years, in all kinds of roles including operations, product development, meeting and incentive organisation and sales and marketing.

I really love working in sales because of the feeling of satisfaction of working with a client to prepare their tour program, and then closing the sale and seeing how happy the guests are at the end of their trip.

Occasionally my job requires me to travel with a tour group to personally help out with the tour operations if it is a more complex program.  In this photo I am on the road, being a tourist for a few days with a group of guests from India.  I am lucky to have a lot of variety in my job.

My favourite place in Turkey is the Aegean coastline because there are so many historical sites and endless beautiful scenery.  When I visit that region I really feel like I have been transported back to ancient times. My family live down that way, so I could also be a little biased 🙂

I have travelled a lot around Turkey, and working in tourism has taught me to love history.  One day I hope to visit Italy, because it is the birthplace of Western civilization and art and cultural power.

In my spare time I am a keen photographer and I also love to go on long distance motorbike rides.  In this first photo I am combining my two interests – mid-way through I ride I stopped on Rumeli Bridge and was taking a photo.  You can see the Bosphorous Bridge in the background.  Istanbul is the perfect subject for a photographer, and I try to photograph this beautiful city and its ever-changing city scape and moods whenever I can find the time.

When I am not at work, out riding or taking photographs I can often be found listening to music – classical and jazz are my favourites.
